Dyes are toxic chemicals and the main source of color pollution in the textile wastewaters. Therefore, the use of illite clay as an adsorbent to remove methyl violet dye from solutions was investigated in this study. Equilibrium experiments were carried out in batch mode as a function of temperature, ionic strength, and pH. The equilibrium was attained within 24 hours. The capacity of illite clay increased when pH, temperature, and ionic strength were raised. Four adsorption isotherm models, viz, the Langmuir, Freundlich, Khan, and Sips, were used to analyze the equilibrium data. The nonlinear optimization technique was used to fit the data to the isotherm models, and for this purpose five error functions were used. The equilibrium data could be explained by the Sips isotherm model, and among the entire error equations generally the HYBRID error function provided the lowest sum of the normalized error values. Thermodynamic parameters indicated that dye adsorption had endothermic and unspontaneous nature. Also, the positive enthalpy change indicated that dye uptake occurred by physical binding. The maximum dye capacity of illite was found as 159.95 mg g?1 at 60°C. High dye capacity exposed that illite would be used effectively in cationic dye removal. 相似文献
The present study was designed to examine the chemical composition of the essential oil, in vitro antioxidant activity and total phenolic and flavonoid content of extracts from plant parts (leaf, flower and stem) of Teucrium alyssifolium. The principle components of the essential oil were trans-β-caryophyllene (16.87%), ar-curcumene (11.43%) and bisabolene (11.06%), representing 39.36% of the oil. The total phenolic contents ranged between 13.99 and 41.54 mg of GAE/g of extract. The concentrations of flavonoids varied from 16.82 to 49.52 mg of Ru/g of extract. Antioxidant activity was determined in vitro using DPPH reagent and expressed as concentration of each extract required to inhibit radical by 50% (IC50) values that ranged from 13.52 to 132.55 μg/ml. Our results have indicated that water extract of T. alyssifolium (part leaf) with a total content of polyphenols (41.54 mg of GAE/g) and an IC50 of 13.52 μg/ml is more antioxidant. 相似文献

Poly(crotonic acid-co-2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) [P(CrA-co-AMPS)] (44.22:55.78) copolymer was prepared in N,N-dimethylformamide solution using the benzoyl peroxide (Bz2O2) as initiator. Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) chelates of the copolymer were prepared and the formation constants of each complex were determined by the mole-ratio method using UV-vis spectroscopy. UV-vis studies showed that the complex formation tendency increased in the followed order: Cu(II) > Ni(II) > Co(II). The copolymer and its metal chelates were characterized by FTIR, TGA, X-ray diffraction and SEM analysis. With model uncertainty characterized by a convex, possibly non-dominated set of probability measures, the agent minimizes the cost of hedging a path dependent contingent claim with given expected success ratio, in a discrete-time, semi-static market of stocks and options. Based on duality results which link quantile hedging to a randomized composite hypothesis test, an arbitrage-free discretization of the market is proposed as an approximation. The discretized market has a dominating measure, which guarantees the existence of the optimal hedging strategy and helps numerical calculation of the quantile hedging price. As the discretization becomes finer, the approximate quantile hedging price converges and the hedging strategy is asymptotically optimal in the original market. 相似文献
The isothermal entropy change of spin-1 Blume-Capel (BC) is investigated on the Bethe lattice (BL) with the variations of coordination numbers (q), crystal field (D) and external magnetic field (H) in the vicinity of critical temperatures, i.e. about the second- and first-order phase transition temperatures. The calculation is carried on the BL in terms of exact recursion relations. It is found that the peaks of the isothermal entropy variation obtained for both magnetization and quadrupole moments are observed to be increasing with increasing values of H for given D and q, decreasing with the increasing q for fixed D and H and also decreasing with the increasing values of D for constant q and H. The peaks of the curves for the quadrupole moment is less sharper then the ones obtained for the magnetization.
The effects of crystal field (Δ) which is randomly turned on with probability p or turned off with probability 1−p on the sites of the Bethe lattice are investigated to study the critical behavior of the spin-3/2 Blume-Capel model. The order-parameters are obtained in terms of the recursion relations and then the possible phase diagrams are calculated at finite temperatures for given system parameters p, Δ and coordination numbers z=3, 4, 5 and 6. It was found that the phase diagrams change drastically for given probability and randomness. The first-order phase transitions are only found for higher p values and the lines of which get shorter and eventually disappear as p decreases. The critical lines do not present any qualitative differences with z, but they are seen at higher temperatures for higher z. 相似文献
